  Dear  Twinkle:

I read ur piece in the newspaper. That was exactly what happened when I was a student in UP in 1978 and also way back in 1969 when my cousins were trying to oust Marcos from Malacanang. It happened again during the time of Estrada and now Gloria. It is a never ending cycle my child.

That was almost thirty years ago and I am here in Singapore for the last 6 years with my family. The headline yesterday of Straits Times(The SIngapore Daily Newspaper) was about whether the government should ask school bus operators to furnish seat belts in the school buses to provide safety to school children while the Headline in Manila newspapers is about the coup and the State of Emergency.
I was just wondering when can we Filipinos attain the peace and stability that is existing in countries like Singapore. The people in Singapore are not contented with their daily lives(who is) but at least when they sleep at night there are no brown outs, no traffic and no coups that will disrupt daily lives of people.
I guess we Filipinos have to feel and  think deep in our hearts how we can stop all these bickering. We are just punishing ourselves and no one else. If we dont stop this continuous power struggle and start cooperating with each other and with the government we will go down in the dumps. India is a poor country but look where it is heading now. There is no government interference in industries and there is no power struggle. Also look at China.
Gumising na tayo, or you  will end up like us…looking for our fortunes/toiling in other countries because suko na kaming makipag laban.
Kelan kayo tayo matututo. Ikaw you are still young and young minds can shape the future. My best regards to you.
